Do you want to generate more cash flow? Are you raising money for a special purpose? Are you wanting more freedom? Let’s work on prosperity.
Winter’s garden sleeps, but my December garden sat confused wondering where summer had gone
but it was yet not cold, and why there were still cherry tomatoes still ripening beautifully and why the Morning Glory Star of Yelta still blossomed, climbing the Tibetan prayer flags up to my balcony until a week ago. The terrible winds of two storms last week thrashed the bamboo fence. Leaves turned to muck in the fountain. It felt mistreated.
My garden is an extension of the prosperity area of my home, according to the Feng Shui bagua, missing a huge chunk out of it. Without care and attendance, my finances do not ripen. Since being diligent with my garden, I’m finding the funds arrive when I need. Seeing the garden in disarray, Yuji took it upon himself while I worked on my Vision Boarding presentation materials to take care of business. He jumped into the garden, digging, tying, cutting, re-potting, dismantling, reconstructing, pruning, re-hoisting, attending to the garden’s every need. He is a nurturer yet gently scolded me for allowing it to get out of hand.
Cut to less than an hour later.
I got a unexpected email inquiry for a narration for Friday. That’ll be two narrations in one day. Plus, my Feng Shui mentor Mark Ainley is in Tokyo for more consults and trainings, plugging my Vision Boarding in his magazine articles. That same evening, I got a pre-payment for the Artist’s Way in Tokyo workshop beginning January 12. All in a couple of hours of repairing the prosperity area of my garden. I often experience this. Now I wonder why I do not play in my garden every day!
There are areas we need to focus on to allow more flow and function. Areas that need our attention. Let’s REPAIR our prosperity.
R. Rear left corner.
This is the prosperity area, from the entrance of your property and/or front door. It is called Wealth & Prosperity. Everyone’s ideas of Wealth & Prosperity differ. It might mean abundance of food (received, grown or bought), ample time, dream houses/cars/trips, winning free tickets, freedom, or money.
E. Energy (Chi) moving items.
Wind chimes, wind socks, whirligigs, and flags stimulate the energy (chi) which is what we want flowing smoothly at all times (not just seasonally) in our prosperity area. Fountains and waterfalls symbolize abundance and flow. Just make sure that the water pools at the bottom to catch your wealth.
P. Purple.
Purple is the color of prosperity with secondaries of red and green. Purple is the color of royalty as a perfect blend between blue and red, the most difficult color to make which is why only rich could have it. Think lavish velvets.
A. All that glitters.
Is gold. Shiny things, sparkly things attract more glittery things.
I. Images of wealth.
Posters, paintings, collages, photos and figures of what you want. Many people put dreams homes, cars, boats, and jewelry images here. Collections and valuable possessions such as antiques, art, coins, crystal, and sculptures are best here.
R. Replace or Remove.
Broken items do not belong in our homes. If it’s unable to be repaired, or you have waited too long, just get rid of it. If this sentence doesn’t make you fix it right now, then it really needs to be thrown out ASAP. Unless you are a nursery, your home is not a plant hospital, so bury those plants and keep healthy plants, especially shiny, rounded, coin-shaped leaves such as jade, impatiens or blooming purple flower plants in red, purple, and blue.
Block off a time in your schedule just to work on your Wealth & Prosperity corner of your home. Schedule an appointment with me to find what effect your home environment is having on your financial life. Let’s REPAIR our prosperity!

Defragment my life beginning in my home.
I do not claim to be a computer person, and I can barely remember that my new MacBook Pro is “Airbrushed Aluminum” nevermind how much memory it has. But here is one term that has stuck with me since first learning about computers, well, way before Mac OSX: Defragment.
What is defragmenting?
defragmentation – the process of moving applications and associated files to adjacent locations on the hard disk drive so that the application opens and runs the files more efficiently and, therefore, much quickly. Defragmentation generally improves the performance of the computer system.
Wouldn’t you love to defragment your mind? Find those scattered files, make space for more information retention, feel more at ease?
How about your home? Find your keys more easily, find that document you were searching for, or that do-whacker which you haven’t used in a while, but could really use right now, if it wasn’t for so much, well…CLUTTER. Those things in the junk drawer, piles of papers on your desk, useless gifts that you don’t have the heart to get rid of, exercise equipment that you might use again someday especially because you spent so much on that it’d be a shame not to use it…Sound familiar?
Collectively, they are overwhelming your senses, giving you the feeling that you just can’t get it done, bringing on that feeling of stuckness, stagnancy, illness and disease, reasons not to start your art/passion/family/relationship/new business.
Before the New Year, let’s DEFRAGMENT our homes.
D. Divide your home into project areas.
Looking at the Feng Shui Bagua map, get interested in where the most clutter is piling in your home. Do you see a relationship between clutter in your relationship area and possible baggage in preventing relationships from getting to the next level? Is there an area that always seems to fill with clutter as quickly as you remove it? Check that area on the Bagua map and check what is happening in that area of your life. Does that area need constant attention? What area of the bagua would you like to work on first? Many of my clients clean up their Wealth & Bleassings area find prosperity come in right as they are cleaning!
E. Everything comes out.
As you evaluate the necessity of each item, take out everything in your closet piece by piece. There is a standard rule that says if you haven’t used it in a year, you will never use it. I don’t adhere to that system. Sometimes I need a reminder that it is there and giving it space to breathe and showcase itself useful. The velvet blazer I’m wearing today I had only worn once and now I wear it all the time since uncovering this forgotten treasure.
F. Friends.
Real or imaginary, friends can help you determine if you need items or not.
Try ‘selling’ the items to your friend to evaluate whether it’s a keeper or not. If it takes too long and there aren’t enough selling points, it’s gotta go.
R. Reduce into piles.
Three Piles: Keep (for clothes: divide into Fall/Winter, Spring/Summer), Recycle (give to friends or charities), and garbage bag. For clothing, vacuum seal bags are excellent to reduce space, put them away, and then when the appropriate season rolls around, it’s like having a whole new wardrobe because you haven’t seen these items in months! Which also saves money. When you have narrowed down your wardrobe choices for the season, you’ll find yourself wearing things that you haven’t worn in a while that get a lot of compliments.
A. Advertise your good items to friends or on auction.
One person’s trash is another person’s treasure. Really nice items I clean up, wrap in nice gift wrap, and consider who would find this item valuable and where they could use it to enhance their living space. No, I’m not cluttering my friends homes intentionally. I have tons of necklaces that I don’t wear, and books I won’t read again, etc. I tell them, this is a previously loved item, and I think that it would be nice for you. If you love it, please keep it. If not, you can either give it a new home, or I can take it back.
G. Garbage day.
Don’t let it wait or you’ll never end up getting rid of it and it’ll be stuck in your garage or junk room.
M. Mark your calendar.
Mark one day for each project area. It can be overwhelming to think of tackling your whole house in one day. Allow the changes to take the course of 3, 6, or 9 weeks.
E. Entrances…
are great places to start because when you come home, it’s refreshing to see a clear space. You are allowing chi for new opportunities to come in. Your entrance-way/foyer is a miniature model of how you handle projects. Do you collect tons of handbags and coats, useless items, block your entrance with sports equipment that you don’t use regularly? Allow it to get dusty? Does it represent you?
N. New.
Buy a few items that represent the new you and the you that you are becoming. Your home is a representation of you. Buy things that you love, not to add to more clutter.
T. Take before and after photos.
So you can see the difference. Celebrate the changes.
What do you have in your space that your friends might consider clutter? Have a friend come over, or your friendly Feng Shui consultant Soness, and let go of the unnecessary clutter that clouds your life. Open up room for new opportunities!

I teach workshops on Vision Boarding with Feng Shui as part of my Living Visions services. Most people know that Vision Boarding is a powerful tool for manifestation, as popularized by The Secret and Oprah Winfrey. Of those, only a small percentage even bother to make a Vision Board themselves. And even fewer know how to create one with balance. As well-balanced as we would like to envision our lives, our focus remains on improving only certain areas. This causes an overall imbalance in our Life:Work:Happiness ratio. I know this because my vision boards also used to look like high school collages of I-want-this-for-Christmas images. As a Feng Shui consultant, I have found a great tool for balancing my Life:Work:Happiness ratio as the base of my Vision Boards–the Feng Shui Bagua. Before you roll your eyes, think about the importance of a MAP.
M. Mimic thought patterns.
What is interesting is the current research says that the Bagua may mimic a thought pattern, or even the way information is processed in our brains. Typhoons move the same direction, as do our energy patterns, and the flow of chi through your home or office.
A. All areas.
Take a moment to think about what areas in your life you would like to work on.
Would you like to get clarity in: Self-Cultivation & Knowledge? Career & Life path? Helpers & Travel, Creativity & Children, Love & Partnership? Fame & Reputation? Wealth & Blessings? Family & Health? A balanced Center?
Then using the Feng Shui Bagua map will give clarity in the 9 “treasures” of our lives.
When making my Vision Board, as most people do, I found an imbalance. I had so much heavily focused on Self-Cultivation & Knowledge, Career & Life Path, Helpers & Travel…well, everywhere except relationships and creativity, which are what I had said I had wanted. I had no idea what I wanted, so how was I going to be successful in a career with no creativity? And wouldn’t I like to choose what kind of partner I wanted instead of hooking up with someone who wouldn’t be supportive of my career and travel goals, or has a different value system? I got clear. I got what I wanted.
P. Purpose.
When you have a purpose, it’s amazing how quickly you can manifest what you are looking for. Do you ever have synchronicity in your life, like when you decide to buy a used car, and you just happen to mention it to a friend in passing and they have a friend selling the exact model you are looking for? Or things turn up just at the right time? That’s synchronicity. Get ready for more of that to happen when your life is full of purpose, intention, in every area of your life. I’ve worked with clients on prosperity, and the next morning they call me to say they found more money in their books; their phone was ringing off the hook for auditions; people finding love once they’ve defined exactly what they wanted. My objective is to live with intention, so this falls nicely in line with my beliefs.
When creating your visions of the future, it helps to have a MAP as the base. Why not try the ancient wisdom of the Feng Shui bagua to create intentions and balance your Life:Work:Happiness quotient.
Give me a call or Skype as you are ready to get started.
